Mayor Gamec introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLTUION #03-01-015 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION HIRING OF GINA WIELER TO THE POSITION OF FULL-TIME <br />POLICE PATROL OFFICER <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, on November 12, 2002, staff received authorization to recruit for the <br />position of full-time police patrol officer due to the retirement of former Police Chief David <br />Gustafson and subsequent internal promotions; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, applications were reviewed and interviews were conducted with 23 <br />candidates; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, finalists participated in a seconded interview process and physical agility <br />testing; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the interview panel and Police Chief recommended the hiring of Gina <br />Wieler subject to the successful completion of background investigations, employment physical, <br />and drug/alcohol testing; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ms. Wieler began work with the Department on January 6, 2003, and will <br />be participating in the FTO program for 90 days. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to ratify the hiring of Gina Wieler to the position of Police Patrol <br />Officer at an annual rate of $37,350, plus benefits and vacation per City policy and LELS <br />contract. Ms. Wieler has successfully completed background checks, physical agility <br />testing, and passed an employment physical and drug/alcohol screen. Ms. Wieler will <br />serve a one-year probationary period. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kurak, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereofi <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Elvig <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councilmember Stommen <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br /> <br />
