AN AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 10 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE, WHICH CHAPTER IS <br />KNOWN AS THE ANIMALS CHAPTER OF THE RAMSEY, MINNESOTA, CITY CODE. <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE III, SECTIONS 52 -70, DOGS. <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br />This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the City Charter of the City of <br />Ramsey. <br />SECTION 2. REPEAL <br />Article 111 Dogs of the City Code is hereby repealed and replaced with the following new Article <br />111 Dogs. <br />SECTION 3. AMENDMENTS <br />Sec. 10 - 52. - Definitions. <br />ORDINANCE #12 -11 <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />ARTICLE III - DOGS <br />DIVISION 1. - GENERALLY <br />The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to <br />them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: <br />Animal control authority means an agency of the state, county, municipality, or other governmental <br />subdivision of the state which is responsible for animal control operations in its jurisdiction. <br />Boarding means providing for the care, shelter, or feeding of dogs, not owned by the owner or occupant <br />of the premises where said dogs are kept, for any period. <br />Dangerous dog means any dog that has: <br />(1) Without provocation, inflicts substantial bodily harm on a human being on public or private <br />property. <br />(2) Has killed a domestic animal without provocation while off the owner's property. <br />(3) Has been found to be potentially dangerous, and, after the owner has notice that the dog is <br />potentially dangerous, the dog aggressively bites, attacks, or endangers the safety of <br />humans or domestic animals. <br />
