<br />Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #13-01-024 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF FUNDING FOR TH 10 IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />Trunk Highway 10 (TH 10), located in Anoka County, in the Cities of <br />Ramsey and Anoka has been problematic for years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the problems have to do with safety and mobility; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Ramsey actively participated in MnDOT’s TH 10 Corridor <br />Management Plan in 2001-2002; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> that plan laid out general improvements to address the problems with TH <br />10; however, no funding was available to implement the TH 10 Corridor Management Plan; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />to address this matter, the Cities of Ramsey and Anoka partnered to get <br />Federal Appropriations to study improvements that could be made; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> in addition, the Cities of Ramsey and Anoka, along with Anoka County, <br />participated in the TH 10/169 Corridor Coalition for many years in support of improvements for <br />TH 10; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> preliminary engineering plans for the City of Ramsey TH 10 project were <br />approved by MnDOT in 2010, but were rejected for further funding; those plans propose a <br />resolution acceptable to our communities and could be completed through final design in a <br />relatively short period of time; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Ramsey supports continuing to work cooperatively with Anoka <br />County, the City of Anoka, and MnDOT to fund and improve TH 10, starting at Fairoak Avenue <br />in Anoka and heading west-bound to one-half mile west of Armstrong Boulevard (CR 83) in <br />Ramsey; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Ramsey also supports the efforts of Anoka County in lobbying <br />for federal funding to work on projects in the above-identified segment of the TH 10 corridor. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br /> <br />1.That the City of Ramsey supports continued efforts to make safety and mobility <br />improvements on TH 10. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Riley, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> <br />
