PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Park and Recreation Commission conducted a regular meeting on Thursday, July <br />13, 1989 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mr. Ron Hetland <br />Mr. Bill Rustad <br />Mr. Roy Shumway <br />Ms. Jill Prall <br />Ms. Janice Johnson <br /> <br />Mr. Merland Otto/Hakanson Anderson <br /> <br />Mr. Donald Lokker <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Hetland called the regular Park and Recreation Commission meeting to order at <br />7:07 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Mr. Art Raudio told the Park and Recreation Commission that Mr. Jake Barthel has 50 acres he <br />would like to develop, but before he does he would like to know if there are any parks planned <br />for that area. <br /> <br />Merland Otto asked Mr. Barthel how many lots he was going to develop. <br /> <br />Mr. Barthel stated that he is proposing 20 lots, unless he can develop with 1 acre lot sizes. <br /> <br />Merland Otto told Mr. Barthel that if he gets his preliminary plat approved by January 1, <br />1990, he could go with a minimum lot size of 2 1/2 acres. If the sketch plan has not been <br />approved by January 1, he would have to develop at a density of 4 units per 40 acres. <br /> <br />Commissioner Shumway asked how much land the City was entitled to for park dedication. <br /> <br />Merland Otto told Commissioner Shumway that on 50 acres the City can acquire up to 5 acres. <br /> <br />Acting Chairman Hetland told Mr. Barthel and Mr. Raudio that at this time he does not see the <br />need for a park in that area due to the fact that it will be developed with 2 1/2 acre lot sizes. <br /> <br />PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION/JULY 13, 1989 <br /> Page I of 5 <br /> <br /> <br />
