Introductions

All persons present introduced themselves.

2. Discuss Present Ordinance

Greg Wheeler of Pro-Source stated that there is no State requirement for a tree preservation
ordinance and it is good that Ramsey is going to create one for the community. The current City
ordinances do address wetland protection and tree preservation, but they need to be updated and
converted to a more user friendly format.

3. Discuss Process and Objectives

Mr. Cook stated that his impression from City Council is that between tree preservation and
wetland protection, tree preservation should be the committee's first priority.

Several persons referenced software put out by the Tree Trust that has a step-by-step program for
drafting a tree preservation ordinance.

It was agreed that the first priority is a tree preservation ordinance.
