FINANCE COMMITTEE CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, January 28, 2003, at the Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Mayor Thomas Gamec Councilmember David Elvig Councilmember Patti Kurak Councilmember A1 Pearson Councilmember Sara Strommen Councihnember Gerald Zimmerman Members Absent: Councilmember Todd Cook Also Present: City Administrator James E. Norman Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson Finance Officer Diana Lund Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler CALL TO ORDER Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:40 p.m. CITIZEN INPUT There was none. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Case #1: Review and Adopt 2002 Amended General Fund Budget and $630,000 Budget Transfer to 2003 Adopted General Fund Budget Finance Officer Lund presented for the Finance Committee's review the 2002 amended General Fund Budget. She explained that the City is required to amend their adopted budgets annually to reflect more accurately the actual expenditures and revenues of the City for the proposed year. Included in the adopted 2002 General Fund Budget was $630,000 for an aerial ladder fire truck. The construction bid was awarded to General Safety during the Council meeting of August 13, 2002. At year-end, 2002, the City had yet to receive the ladder truck, as it was still under construction. The City made no payments for the truck in 2002, therefore, the whole $630,000 will be expensed in 2003. To show this expenditure in the appropriate year, the 2002 Adopted Finance Committee/January 28, 2003 Page 1 of 5
