PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA A special meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on Wednesday, 1985 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Acting Mayor Gary Reimann Councilmember Arnie Cox Councilmember A1 Sorteberg Also Present: Members Absent: City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle Mayor Gary Heitman Councilmember Jean Schlueter CAr,~,,, TO ORDER Acting Mayor Reimann called the special Council meeting to order at 4:~:~ and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. COUNCIL BUSINESS Case #1: Gambling License Application: Case Of RamseyLions: Councilm~ber Cox noted that the cover letter calling for this special n states the date as 'Thursday, June 19, 1985'; it should have read 'Wedn~ June 19, 1985'; this error may be the reason for two members of Council being present today. Councilmember Cox noted that this is not the firs? an error like this has been made. Councilmember Cox stated that the Ramsey Lions are making application gambling license from the Minnesota State Charitable Gambling Control the license is required for the raffle event to be held in conjuction Community Festival being conducted to match the Lutheran Brotherhood do:~ for park development. The application to the State includes a 30 day period to allow the City an opportunity to react to the application; th, are requesting that the City waive that 30 day waiting period as the fe:~ is scheduled for July 12, 13 and 14. Council unanimously consented to dispense with the reading of the resol,~ Motion by Councilmember Sorteberg and seconded by Councilmember Cox to a Resolution 985-112 waiving the 30 day waiting period in conjunction wit}~ Ramsey Lions' application for a charitable gambling license.
