Those problems were made even more
evident by the activity of Northfork truck traffic and this provoked a
conversation with Burlington Northern regarding the seriousness of the
crossings. The State is also reluctant to allow access onto Hwy. #10
because of the railroad's close proximity to the highway. The purpose of
this meeting is to inform the affected property owners and get their input
regarding relocating the railroad tracks and protecting the appropriate
corridor to do so at some point in the future. The proposed relocation
would result in safer railroad crossings and provide ample area for a
service road and stack-up space on the south side of Hwy. #10.

City Council/May 19, 1988
