AIRPORT COMMISSION
CITY OF RAMSEY
ANOKA COUNTY
STATE OF MINNESOTA

The Airport Commission was scheduled for a regular meeting on Wednesday, June
18, 1986 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 No~hen Blvd. NW, Ramsey, MN.

Members Present:

Mr. Jack Ippel, Chairman
Mr. Richard Sieber
Mr. Don Greenberg
Mr. Stephen Larsen

Also Present:

Mr. Dave Chapman

Members Absent:

Mr. Dennis Donovan
Mr. John Seibert
Mr. Don Stauffer
Mr. Ron Erickson

CALL 20 ORDER

Chairman Jack~Ippel called the meeting at 8:30 PM, as he was informed some members
would be arriving late. Minutes of May 21, 1986 meeting were noted, but due to
not having a quorum, the meeting was dismissed.

COMMISSION B~I~ESS

Due to commission not having a quorum, items were discussed for consideration of
commission me~bers and other members were to be contacted for their input and
recommendation then would be forwarded to council.

ALTERNATE RUNWAY ALIGNMENT

The Master Plan Alignment and Alternative Alignment were discussed with plus & minus
on different factors and the consenus was to go with the original plan in that the
public hearin~have already been held with little or no o~sition and the alternate
plan has very few changes and would only delay the finalizing of the plan. Commission
member Greenberg did favor the alternate plan in that he felt it would affect fewer
homes, mostly being the trailer park which could be relocated and Prestressed Concrete
which is not operating at the present time. Drainage area holding ponds were favored
in the outlying area of the site. Members felt this could be a benefit to surrounding
low areas wit~ drainage problems.

Commission member Sieber made a motion that the alternate plan 15/33 be rejected and
confine future efforts to master plan known as 16/34. Motion seconded by Commission
member Larsen, but due to lack of quorum this was an informal motion.

Comments on the M&y 12, 1986 meeting with the FAA, MN/DOT, Met Council were that the
airport site is now a high priority item. The site was originally a low priority in
that the use was for much fewer planes. There are presently 35 aircraft using the
site and is now in high priority consideration for the National Systems plan, which
would make obtaining grant funds obtainable.

Consenus was to appoint Dave Chapman to fill the vacancy on the commission.
Motion by Commission member Greenberg, seconded by Commission member Sieber.
