Councilmember LeTourneau introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION #15-01-024 <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT FOR EXTENDING <br />PUBLIC SEWER AND WATER UTILITIES INTO THE CITY OF ANOKA <br />WHEREAS, the City of Anoka has studied options for extending public sanitary sewer <br />and water utilities to two parcels within the City of Anoka that border the City of Ramsey; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Anoka has determined it would be most cost-effective to serve <br />the two parcels by extending public utilities proposed to be constructed in 2015 by the City of <br />Ramsey to serve the Ridgepoint residential development; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Anoka has requested that the City of Ramsey enter into a Joint <br />Powers Agreement to allow for the extension of trunk sanitary sewer and water utilities from the <br />Ridgepoint residential development into the City of Anoka to serve the two parcels bordering the <br />City of Ramsey; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Ramsey desires to work cooperatively with the City of Anoka to <br />allow the two parcels in the City of Anoka to be served with public utilities as cost-effectively as <br />possible. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br />1) That the City of Ramsey agrees to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with the City of <br />Anoka to extend public sanitary sewer and water utilities into the City of Anoka to serve <br />the two parcels commonly known as 6058 Highway 10 (PIN #35-32-25-31-0001) and 6050 <br />Highway 10 (PIN #35-32-25-31-0004). <br />2) That the City of Ramsey will not be responsible for any administrative or legal fees <br />required to record the Joint Powers Agreement. <br />3) That the City of Ramsey will not be responsible for any costs required to upsize the City <br />of Anoka owned and maintained utility extensions, or to provide additional utilities to serve <br />the two parcels within the City of Anoka in perpetuity. <br />4) That the City of Ramsey will not be responsible for any costs required to remove the City <br />of Anoka owned and maintained utility extensions in perpetuity. <br />5) That the attached Joint Powers Agreement as amended by the City Attorney to allow for <br />the extension of City of Ramsey public sanitary sewer and water utilities to serve the two <br />parcels within the City of Anoka is hereby approved with the conditions noted above. <br />RESOLUTION #15-01-024 <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />
