Councihnember Cook introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #04-01-010 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPOINTING FIRE INSPECTOR <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, City Council has approved the 2004 budget which includes a new building <br />inspector position to make the half fire inspector/half building inspector into two separate full <br />time positions to accommodate the growing workload in Building Inspections and the need for <br />increased staff time for the Fire Inspection/Fire Prevention program; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, city staff has conducted a recruitment process and is recommending <br />Andrew Schreder for the position of Building Inspector this evening; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Jerry Streich has served in the position of Fire/Building Inspector since <br />1991 and is a Captain on the Ramsey Fire Department; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, city staff is recommending Jerry Streich be appointed to the position of <br />full-time Fire inspector. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />That the City Council of the City of Ramsey confirms the recommendation of the <br />Personnel Committee to appoint Jerry Streich to the position of full-time Fire Inspector <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That there is no change in pay classification for this position. All other personnel policies <br />will apply normally. Mr. Streich will transition to the Fire Inspector position during the <br />month of January, 2004. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Kurak, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Cook <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councihnember Elvig <br />Councilmember Pearson <br />Councihnember Strommen <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />Nolle <br /> <br /> <br />
