PROCEEDINGS OF CHARTER COMMISSION <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Charter Commission conducted a special meeting on Thursday, October <br />6, 1988 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairman Dick Sieber <br />Commissioner Tom Gamec <br />Commissioner Stan Data <br />Commissioner Curt Titterud <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Dave Hartley <br />Jerry Hamlet <br />Barb Graen <br />Bernie Steffen <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was no citizen input. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Gamec and seconded by Commissioner Data to add to the <br />agenda the consideration of the petition to amend the City Charter to include a <br />chapter on Police Department. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Sieber, Commissioners Gamec, Data, and <br />Titterud. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />COMMISSION BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Interview Candidates for Vacancies on.the Commission: <br /> <br />The Charter Commission interviewed the three candidates for the two vacancies <br />on the Commission: Jerry R. Hamlet, Barbara A. Graen, and Bernard E. Steffen. <br /> <br />Motion by Commissioner Gamec and seconded by Chairman Sieber that the other <br />Charter Commission members not present be contacted to confirm their interests <br />in being reappointed to the Charter Commission. If one or more of the other <br />Commission members are not interested in being reappointed, then the Charter <br />Commission recommends that all three candidates (Hamlet, Graen, and Steffen) be <br />appointed by the Chief Judge. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Sieber, Commissioners Gamec and Data. <br />Voting no: Commissioner Titterud. <br /> <br />Motion by Chairman Sieber and seconded by Commissioner Titterud to appoint <br />Commissioner Gamec as Vice-Chairman of the Charter Commission, recognizing the <br />vacancy created by Ms. Brenda Bauerkemper. <br /> <br />Charter Commission/October 6, 1988 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
