NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Negotiating Committee conducted a closed portion of the regular meeting on <br />Monday, April 12, 1993 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard <br />N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: Councilmember Glen Hardin <br /> Councilmember Kenneth Peterson <br /> <br />Members Absent: Councilmember Sheila Beyer <br /> <br />Also Present: City Administrator Ryan Schroeder <br /> Personnel Coordinator Kay McAloney <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: 1993 Wages and Benefits for LELS <br /> <br />Caucus 6:04 p.m. (Closed) <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding the type of footwear that the officers should be allowed to <br />purchase. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated he would prefer the intent be boots. <br /> <br />Ms. McAloney suggested what they wear now should be what they be allowed to <br />purchase. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson felt that if boots were included, they could afford to upgrade their <br />footwear. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin felt they would want to upgrade also and inquired if they would <br />soon be asking to increase the allowance. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder suggested the Police Chief could define regulation footwear. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued regarding wages. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder stated that the top of the grade is slightly below the Stanton Class 5 (after 5) <br />and after 16, the rate is slightly below. He stated the top of grade, year 5 is important to <br />him. <br /> <br />Councilmember Hardin stated the only officer affected is Tom Lueck. He inquired what <br />the rest of the group thought about moving top patrol up to six years next year. <br /> <br />Mr. Schroeder felt that would not be a good idea. <br /> <br />Councilmember Peterson suggested watching the amount of overtime the officers put in. <br />Councilmember Hardin stated he is not pleased with the way the insurance pay is handled. <br /> <br />Negotiating Committee/Closed Portion/April 12, 1993 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
