PARK AND RECRFATION COMMISSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY S~I%TE OF MINNESO~t% A regular meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission was held on Thursday, January 17, 1985 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Dennis Donovan Don Lokker Ron Hetland Marleen Looyen John Lichter Members Absent: Janice Johnson Bill Rustad Also Present: Steve Ohnstad, Community School Coordinator No minutes were turned in from the Ramsey Community School Coordinator for the January 17th meeting. The following is from a review of the meeting: ~: D~ties_ of the~m~mission: The Park Board reviewed its role as stated in the City Code. General consensus was that this is still an accurate description of the Park and Recreation Commission's role and duties. ~: Conm~nitv School_' s Role__on Park_Board: Mr. Steve Ohnstad was present serving as an interim Ramsey Community School Director. The Con~ission felt that the expansion of the role of the Community School Coordinator, as advised by the Ramsey Task Force, would be a valuable asset to the Park Board. This would add a nice resource person to the Park Board. The expanded role of the Community School Coordinator should help expand the Coordinator of being all City service oriented rather than just Ramsey School oriented. Q~._~: River.!s Bend Park: Councilmember Arnold Cox had been in contact with Chairman Donovan. He mentioned that if any Park Board member wanted to help install backstops, they should just get in oontact with him.
