P & R MEETING <br /> 4/z0/78 <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />Park ~ Recreation Minutes <br /> April 20, 1978 <br /> 7:00 P.M. <br /> <br /> Darrell Jensen <br /> Dennis Donovan <br /> John Lichter <br /> <br /> · John Zobava <br /> Robert Walz <br /> Kevin Walter <br /> Doris Irvine <br /> <br />D. Jensen reported Mr. 'Berg would be unable' to attend this <br />meeting.. Committee agreed to hold a special meeting <br />regarding the ball fields at the Ramsey Elementary Site <br />on Monday, April 24, 1978, at 6:00 P.M. The purpose of the <br />meeting is to prepare a proposal to the City Council for this <br />facility.. <br /> <br />A discussion of the Traprock development was held. Whether <br />the Park Commission would like to recommend adcePtance of <br />the five-acre piece offered or recommend acceptance of <br />value in cash This development has a four-acre minimum <br />size lot and seven acre maximum lot, comprising low density <br />development of 15 total lots. <br /> <br />Whether a five-acre park would be utilized in a low density <br />area was discussed. <br /> <br />This particul'ar area has three other large developments of <br />much higher density with difficult access to other available <br />parks which are not necessarily high usable ground. MOtion <br />by John Lichter and seconded by John 'Zobava :t'o recommend <br />acceptance 'o'f't'h'is' parcel' 'fo'r p'a'r'k purposes. Motion passed <br />unanimously. For identification purposes'we will refer to <br />Traprock Park as the "Old Driste Tree Farm". <br /> <br />Commission further discussed naming of parks and tabled the <br />discussion for more thought and input. <br /> <br />Of the seven commission members only one has actually site <br />visited everv park. A tour of all parks'for the full <br />commission was set up for May 6; 1978, at 9:00 A.M., ~eaving <br />from the City Hall. Park and Recreation secretary to call <br />all members on Friday, May 5th. <br /> <br />Commission secretary is to request access or a copy of the <br />ordinance covering new developments. <br /> <br />Dennis Donovan is to contact Mark Hadley and invite him for <br />May or June P & R meeting. It was brought to our attention <br />that a complaifit 'had been received about motorized vehicles <br />in the Titterud Park area. .Mr. Jensen will contact the <br />resident who has complained and. try to determine the extent <br />of the nuisance and if.other area residents are objecting. <br /> <br /> <br />
