City of Ramsey Parks & Pecreation Commission Minutes of Meeting October 23~ 1975 Ken Person, Fred Ritchie~ Robert Benson, robert Cushman, Uerbert Scatterelli, Jerry Manthey, Kathy Schneider, Loonard Vereeken, John Zobova, Gary Reimann, Bill Bassett, Don W~]_k er. ]. Meeting began at ?:50 with Mr. Walker presenting a letter stating his views ,~nd philosophies on what a Parks & Recreation Commission sbou].d hope to accomplish. A cooy was made available to all net~bers. All future meetings will be on the ~rd Thursday of each month. 2. Terms for the members were selected as follows: Three year term for Fred Ritchie, Robert Cushman~ Kathy Schneider. Two year term for robert 2enson, Leonard Vereeken, Ken Peterson. One year term for U~,rbert Scatterelli, Jerry Manthey~ John Zobova. Mr. Zobova is renlacement for Mr. Robert Muller and subject to Council approval at the next Council meetinz. Knt;~y Schneider was chosen as secretary for a term of one year. The ?)ositions of ChaSrman & Vice-Chairman will be chosen at the .next ,~eet~ng. In ad~ition to other duties decided upon the Vice- Chairman will be responsible for a financial statement at each meeting. After positions have been chosen, Mr. Walker will assist 'in drafting an ordnance to cover the Commission. Mr. }fen Peterson p~ave a brief summary of past performance by the r)revJous Par~ Boand and their Chairman~ and what future ?fans they had a~reed on. ;..laos were ?~ven to each mer~ber. Gary..Reimann & Bill Bassett showed location of' Parks with a brief explanation of development at each Mr. Ri]l Bassett explained that he had been asked to update the flifures and plans for the hockey rink discussed by the previous Par!< [ioard, Ue showed the findings that will be presentedat the next CJt.¥ Council Meeting. After discussion by the Commission re~'ar<'tinf~ costs of maintenance~ involvement by the school, and Lions Club the Commission agreed we should ask for Council ar~proval. !<r. Ritchie moved that oroviding money is available in P~rks a, recreation fund a hockey rink should be built at the park located adjace~,t to the new sci']ool as per proposal by Mr. }l~s.~:ett and comvleted Do later than December 15~ 1975. Seconded b>f Y'r. Sca~'terelli. Motion carried unanimously. 7.i.Knthy Schneider read the letter from Mayor Cox regarding the Council discussion of Variolite Street at the May 27~ 1975 meeting,'.
