City of Rams.ey Parks ~ Recreation Commission <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> December 18, 197~ <br /> <br />Present: Fred Ritchie, Bob Cdsh~tan, John Zobova, Leonard Vereeken <br /> Kathy Schneider. <br /> <br />Meeting was called to order at ?:30 P.M. Minutes of November 25th <br />were approved with the following correction on page ,41. The motion <br />to appoint Ken Peterson as Vice-Chairman should read: Seconded by <br />Vred Ritchie instead of Ken Ritchie. <br /> <br />Mr. Walker was nDt .present to discuss any information he had obtained <br />in regards to Variolite Street. This will be discussed at the <br />meeting instead. <br /> <br />As Ken Peterson was not present, ~athy Schneider was asked to obtain <br />the financial figures for October & November with a copy for each <br />member. <br /> <br />Mr. Ritchie stated that he wanted to be sure that an inventory <br />all park equipment such as was discussed at the last meeting be ~r~ade <br />before this spring. <br /> <br />Tim Paquette was present~' to discuss the progress on the hockey <br />Skating rinks at the new school. He stated at present the rinks <br />were not usable. He felt that the Hockey rink would be ready by <br />December 22. Also mentioned that the ska'tin.g rink was difficult <br />to flood being it was not adjacent to the hockey rink. The fact that we lack <br />suitable' e, quipment for clearin?' the ice was brought up. There was <br />a suggestS, on that a form be sent to the residents indicating a need <br />for vo]unteer help. Ti~ also stated that be w~s at present working <br />on s~tt:i, ng up ~ warm'[np: ar~v~ for the <br /> <br />to let this area be used if someway of }~lockin~ the access to the <br />lunchroom co:]ld be made. ~fembers of the Board discussed a method <br />using a sheet of plywood and 2x4 with a long bolt~with Tim. Tim <br />mentioned that his future plans included drawing~ maps of our present <br />p~rks with suggestions for imurovements. <br /> <br />Mr. Vereeken expressed a desire to see bike paths in Ramsey in the <br />future. Kathy Schneider was asked to check with City to see if some <br />provision was made on all future road construction in Ramsey. If <br />not, it was the Boards recommendation that this need be taken into <br />consideration. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Mr. Yereeken to adjourn. Seconded by Mr. Cushman. <br />Meeting adjourned at 9:05 P.~. <br /> <br /> <br />
