PROCEEDINGS OF CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on Tuesday, May 25, <br />1982 at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W., Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Gary Reimann (Actin9 Mayor) <br />Councilmember A1 Sorteberg <br />Councilmember Arnie Cox <br />Councilmember Sue Van Wagner <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator Lloyd Schnelle <br />City Engineer Peter Raatikka <br />City Building Official Clayton Berg <br />Reporter Eric Sandin <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was called to order at 7:36 P.M. <br />by Councilmember Gary Reimann. Councilmember Reimann led in the Pledge of <br />Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />RECOGNITION OF ORGANIZATIONS IN THE CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />Ramsey Lion's Club: No representatives of the Club were present to <br />accept a plaque in appreciation of the community sign recently donated <br />to the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Ramsey Jaycee Women: Susan Beale, Brenda Bauerkemper, Dede Galindo, <br />Donella Petro and Sharon Grahs were present at the meeting representing <br />the Ramsey Jaycee Women. Councilmember Reimann presented them with a <br />plaque expressing the City's appreciation for their landscaping donations <br />and efforts. The Jaycee Women then presented Councilmember Reimann with <br />their formal "Landscape Plan." <br /> <br />3) <br /> <br />Girl Scout Troop #939: No representatives of this organization were present <br />to accept a plaque in appreciation for the tree they planted for Arbor Day <br />Ceremony. <br /> <br />Councilmember Cox stated that most people do not realize the cost of a sign <br />like the one the Ramsey Lion's donated and the effort put forth to raise the <br />money to pay for the sign. He further stated that community organizations <br />should get more recognition for their contributions. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Tom Walsh - 5521 167th Avenue N.W. - I recently found out there are plans to <br />blacktop in my area. I was not notified of the public hearing, etc. <br /> <br />Mr. Schnelle commented that the law states that in such situations the City <br />must notify the property owner of the situation and action taken and the <br />property owner has the right to oppose his assessment at the assessment hearing. <br /> <br />C/May 25, 1982 <br /> Page 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
