PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />Regular Meeting of <br /> October 20, 1983 <br /> <br />Members Present: Dennis Donovan, Don Lokker, Janice Johnson, Terry McLean <br /> Ron Hetland and Bill Rustad <br /> <br />Members Absent: John Lichter <br /> <br />Others Present: Deputy Clerk sheila Beyer, Building Official Clayton Berg <br /> and Councilmember Jean Schlueter <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:04 P.M. <br /> <br />Motion by Commission member Hetland and seconded by Commission member McLean <br />to approve the minutes of the September 22, 1983 Park and Recreation Commis~ <br />ion meeting with the following change: <br /> <br />3rd paragraph from the bottom, last sentence should read: <br /> <br />Mr. Arnie Cox said he had requipment for erection~ <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting yes: Chairman Donovan, Commission members Lokker, <br />Johnson, McLean, Hetland and Rustad. Voting no: None. <br /> <br />The Park Board discussed at length the subject of the park dedication fee <br />with Building Official Berg. The Park Board felt they wanted to make sure <br />this was workable with City Staff prior to giving their approval. <br /> <br />Motion by Commission member Lokker and seconded by Commission member Hetland <br />to approve the change in the park dedication fee as presented. <br /> <br />Motion carried. 'Voting yes: Chairman Donovan, Commission members Lokker, <br />Johnson, McLean, Hetland and Rustad. Voting no: None, <br /> <br />Installation of the backstops at the Ramsey Central Park was discussed <br />briefly. It was' decided there was no real hurry at this time that a list <br />of names could be drawn up of volunteers and have them ready to start work <br />sometime in March or April. Commission member Lokker said he would work on <br />a list of names. <br /> <br />Chairman Donovan discussed the well and irrigation system for Ramsey Central <br />Park. The biggest concern is that the system is needed in the park prior to <br />any more construction in order for that park to be successful in the future. <br />The general concensus of the Park Board is for the Council to readvertise <br />for bids for the well and irrigation system. <br /> <br />Jean $chlueter suggested that Commission member Lokker attend the special <br />RYAA meeting on November 13, 1983.
