PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />Regular Meeting of June 18, 1981 <br /> <br />Members Present: Dennis Donovan, Don Lokker, Terry McLean, <br /> Dick Swanson <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />Sue Van Wagner, Mayor Gamec, Bud Augst, <br />Pete Hanson <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. <br /> <br />Bud Augst and Pete Hanson of Traprock Commons submitted a petition <br />against improvements to Traprock Horse Arena (see attached petition). <br /> <br />A discussion followed with a motion by McLean and a second by Lokker <br />to request a post and cable fence on two sides of the park to designate <br />park boundaries - installation of a fenced creative play area. <br />Mr. Donovan will submit a request to the City Council. <br /> <br />Future judging stand and bleachers or any expansion of the horse arena <br />was discussed~and agr~ it would be detrimental to the neighbor- <br />hood. <br /> <br />Don Lokker presented information on school property improvements: <br /> <br />Ag-Lime for ballfield - $3.50 per ton; 100 tons needed <br /> Transportation cost would be $900.00 <br /> <br />A motion was made by Swanson and seconded by McLean to request that <br />the Council buy lime and have the City crew remove the top soil of <br />the ballfields and spread the lime. Mayor Gamec thought the City crew <br />could do the work and find out what happened to, or get a back stop <br />for, Titterud Park.
