PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION <br />Regular meeting of March 19, 1981 <br /> <br />Members Present: Dennis Donovan, Janice Johnson, Don Lokker, Terry <br /> McLean, John Lichter <br /> <br />The current time frame on the bond issue is as follows: <br /> <br />1) Mail the brochure - April 17 - 18, 1981 <br />2) Hold a public meeting - April 23, 1981 <br />3) Election - May 5, 1981 <br /> <br />It was decided to add Peltzer Park to the brochure as improvements are <br />suggested there. <br /> <br />On April 7, 1981, Chairman Donovan will meet with the Commanity School <br />Board about the bond issue. <br /> <br />The Landfill Trust Fund now contains $91,600 and there is approximately <br />$17,600 invested from the General Park Improvement Fund. A discussion <br />followed about using some of the Park Improvement Fund monies. Terry <br />McLean agreed to contact residents near Shawn Acres Park who submitted <br />a request for improvements in that park. RYAAhad the following sug- <br />gestions for improvement; fencing in front of the benches at the school <br />ball fields, replace aglime on the upper fields and purchas a liming <br />cart. They also have a chance to obtain a pitching machine for $400. <br /> <br />A motion by McLean and seconded by Johnson to install a backstop at <br />Titterud, construct bench screens at the school fields, repair back- <br />stops on the upper fields and to provide Satelite service at the school <br />fields, Titterud and Brookview Parks was passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mark Hadley requested a list of parks for the community school traveling <br />recreation program. <br /> <br />The following parks were suggested: Peltzer, Shawn Acres, Titterud, <br />Forest Hideaway, Ford Brook and Ramsey Terrace Parks. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 P.M. <br /> <br />Respectfully submitted, <br /> <br />John Lichter, <br />Secretary <br /> <br /> <br />
