RAMSEY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION Regular Meeting November 16, 1978 Member Present: Dennis Donovan, Mike Haller, Doris Irvine Discussion was held regarding quorum number for P & R and some procedural policies. We will discuss this further when we have a full commission present and some input from Lloyd Schnelle. Mike Haller made motion to approve September 27, 1978 minutes. Dennis Donovan seconded. Minutes approved. Doris Irvine made motion to approve minutes of October 19, 1978 minutes. Mike Haller seconded. Minutes approved. Report on Ball Diamond project. Bids were taken November 3, 1978 b.y the council. W.G. Rehbeins bid of $12,565.00 was accepted. The work on grading was to start November 16, 1978. City Administrator reported the contractor had advised him we would be short about 600 yds of black dirt at a cost of $3,600.00. Members present agreed this part of project should be done properly and the right base be laid now. Dennis Donovan will contact each of the other members and will make a rec- ommendation to the council and city administrator, based on the majority of P & R opinion. Dennis Donovan reported the Mark Harris project at Brookview Park is completed. Mark has worked very hard and his efforts have proveded an improvement to Brookview Park. P & R appreciate Marks work and service to the community and wish him well. Dennis Donovan will prepare a letter of appreciation for Mark to include whatever is necessar.y for him to submit to the Eagle Scouts. Dennis Donovan was in toUch with Marc Hadley regarding supervision of the skating rinks at the elementary school~ Members present recommended Marc Hadley do the supervision as he has done in the past. Doris Irvine is to prepare a short list of survey Questions for P & R. It was suggested the membens might go in a group and Canvas the immediate area around Titterud Park. We would like to know what present uses and needs are. This will be discussed further at P & R meetings, Any public or official input on the development of Titterud Park will be greatfull,v accepted. Doris Irvine is to contact Mr. Torkildson of the Anoka County Park ~epartment about county plans and inVite him to attend one of our meetings. Tom Gamec, Mayor-elect, visited our meeting. P & R appreciates the personal interest the council has shown in the past few months and extends best wishes to the 1979 council members in their respective positions.
