CITY OF RAMSEY
PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION
Regular Meeting October 19, 1978

Members Present:

Dennis Donovan
John Lichter
Mike Haller
Kevin Wolter

The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m.

Minutes of September 27, 1978 meeting were reviewed and approval
was withheld until the item concerning the municipal golf course
study was clarified.

The proposed letter to Metropolitan Council was reviewed and minor
revisions were suggested. The Commission members felt that both
Dennis Donovan and Mayor Cox should sign the letter.

A public hearing will be held on October 23, 1978 to determine the
allocation of Revenue Sharing monies. Chairman Donovan will attend.
Mayor Cox will meet with school board officials on October 23, 1978
to discuss funding for the ball fields. The Jaycees have indicated
their desire to develop a project for the City (possibly the park and
recreation department). The Commission members present discussed
the possibility of constructing a second ice rink, Commission
member Wolter volumteered to research several items in question.

A letter was received from Mr. Richard Swanson requesting a
position on the Park and Recreation Commission. It was referred
to the Commission file until a vacancy is available.

Mr. Len Boland requested joint participation by the City in the
erection of a split rail fence along the west edge of Brookview
Park. This would prevent traffic from cutting through a corner of
Mr. Boland's property. Commission members felt that the expense
would not be justified, some other solution such as tree planting
should be investigated.

John Lichter moved to deny the request by Mr. Boland, seconded
by Kevin Wolter. Passes unanimously.

Meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
