CITY OF RAMSEY PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION August 17, 1978 Members Present: Kevin Walter John Lichter Dennis Donovan John Zobava Doris Irvine Also Present: Lloyd Schnelle Tom Gamec The meeting was called to order at 7:15 P.M. by acting Chairman Dennis Donovan. Kevin Walter made a motion to approve the minutes of the July 20, 1978 meeting correcting the word absent to quests, seconded by John Lichter and approved. ~-3~ ~j-- Pat Martin and Michael Haller were present and were introduced by the Chairman. Commission reviewed letters of application as volunteers for the P & R Commission. They were asked to sit through the meeting and note any questions they might have. The Chairman gave an update report on the grants applied for. Florence Myslajek from the LAWCON office had been out. She took pictures and in- dicated an interest in the trail project. She could not give any an- swers as the projects are only in the investigative stages. There were two forms that must be sent in. Demographic chart and Fiscal information. Commission will attempt to get this information. Tom Gamec suggested the school had sent out a survey form last year and perhaps the infor- mation we need would be available there. The Chairman is trying to set up a meeting with the Mayor and the School officials regarding lease and financing for the Ball diamond project. John Lichter made a motion the funds that are accepted in lieu of land be placed in a separate fund for Capital Improvements (this would be in accord with Subd. Ord. 170.038F, Para. 2). Kevin Walter seconded. Passed. Mrs. Rothenburg who is working with a 4H group at the Whispering Pines Estates Park contacted Dennis Donovan. She was having some difficulty getting the children together during the summer for this project but will continue with her efforts. Dennis Donovan reported on Marks progress at the Brookview Park site. He is looking for paint that will adhere and cover on the existing equipment and will do the painting. Stump removal has been requested of the city. Pat Martin was asked to speak to the Commission about herself and in- terest in the P & R COmmission. Questions were asked by the Commission.
