City of Ramsey Parks & Recreation Commission <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> February 16, 1977 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7~35p.mo Present were John Zobav~, <br />Kathy Schneider, Michele Olson, and A1 Cooper° <br /> <br />The minutes of January 17, 1977 were read. Kathy Schneider said she <br />~.~as not aware that ia the motion to the council, the possibility of <br />mo~e keys, was included in the motion for additional needs for the <br />skating rink° Also, the weekend hours of ~ho rink are 6:30to 9~30 pome <br />Kathy Schneider mdc a motion to app. rove ~ho minutes, ~ith tho changes <br />indicated. John Zobava seconded. Approved 4-0° 3.%~kf~ <br />~iichele Olson made a motion that we recommend to the council to accept <br />Richard Ho]lands' application to the Park and Recreation Commission~ <br />his term to expire in October of 1979o He ~11 fill the vacancy lof~ by <br />the resignation of Rober~ Schwartz° A1 Cooper seconded. Approved )~Oo <br /> <br />T~3~ Paquette attended the meeting° He mentioned that he had spoken <br />~,rtth. ?k~l ~.~ereson and that Phil h~d asked ho~.~ the Park and Recreation" <br />~o~m~ission had funded for paying Tim Paquette. Tim stated that he <br />could, be ~id one of t~o ways~ <br /> 1st- where the city pays the bills, (such as typing,paper and print- <br /> ing) and pay Tim for the 230 hours. <br /> 2nd- ~ero the city pay Tim a consultant fee, aud Tim pays the bills. <br />Some discussion follow, ed. A1 Cooper made a motion that ~;e recommend to <br />tho council that Tim Paquettes status be changed to that of a consol'ben%. <br />Also, that we recommend to the council, that a consultants fee of ~1~150~ <br />excluding incidentals, such as typing, paper, and printing, ~,zhioh ~-~l be <br />paid by the city of Hamsey, and including the $250°00 already paid in <br />December 1976o This fee would be paid upon the ao~eptance, by tho city <br />cooncil, of the proposed Comprehensive Park Plane Kat~ly Schneider seconded. <br />App roved 4-0. <br /> <br />Kathy Schneider made a motion that we recommend to the city council a <br />change in the number of member~ on the Park and Recreation Commission <br />from nine to seven. John Zobava seconded~ Approved 4-0. <br /> <br />Mr. Darrell Jensen attended ~he meeting. He stated his interest in <br />becoming a Park Board me~ber. Kathy Schneider made a motion that we <br />recommend to the couucil that they accept Darrell Jensens' applicatiom <br />for membership to the Park and Recreation Commission° A1 Cooper seconded. <br />Ap~roved 4-0° His term to expire October 1978o <br /> <br />Kag~ySchneider read Bob Cushmans' letter of resignation. She stated the <br />co,moil had accepted his resignation at the previous council meeting° <br />Kathy personally called Bob asking him to reconsider; he felt it ~ould <br />be in the best interest of the park commission that he resign. <br /> <br />James A. Kappelhoff, who is a Park and Recreation consultant, sent a <br />leLter, ~ich Kathy Schn~eider read. He wanted to inquire into the <br />p6ssibility of ou c(~mmunity would be in need of a consultant. We didn't <br />feel the need of one at the present time° <br /> <br />Kathy Schneider stat~;d that the Park and l~ecreation would like to ~mve <br />a cody of our oresent budget. <br /> <br /> <br />
