FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Finance Committee conducted a regular meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2003, at <br />the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Am~strong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson David Elvig <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Finance Officer Diana Lund <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairperson Elvig called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 5:35 p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />The Committee added Case #5: Creation of Two New Funds to the agenda. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Review and Adopt 2004 Tax Levy and General Fund Budget <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund stated that the 2004 Proposed General Fund Budget, as it has been <br />presented and reviewed in the past several months, is based on the collection of tax dollars and <br />results in an estimated 37.401 tax capacity rate. The budget as presented includes $933,978 of <br />capacity outlay items (purchase cost and one year depreciation) of which $280,233 will be <br />funded by the Equipment Revolving Fund and the remaining $653,755 to be funded via Capital <br />Equipment Certificates, which will be added to the property tax levy over the next five years. <br /> <br />Motion by Councihnember Strommen, seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman, to recommend <br />that the City Council adopt the resolution adopting the 2003, Payable 2004 Municipal Tax Levy. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Chairperson Elvig, and Councilmembers Strommen, and <br />Zimmerman. VotingNo: None. <br /> <br />Finance Committee/December 9, 2003 <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
