COMMITTEE MEETING <br />December 6, 197& <br />Building Inspector-Assessor <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, Mr. Cox, at 12:30 <br />pom. Present were Mr. Gorham, Mr. Steffens, and Mr. James Thurs- <br />ton. <br /> <br />Discussion on negotiations with Mr. Thurston by Mr. Steffens, <br />regarding his being hired as building inspector and assessor <br />for the City of Ramsey. Mr. Steffens outlined the motions that <br />had been passed at the Council meeting on December &th with <br />regard to vacations, sick leave, health insurance, mileage, etc. <br />Mr. Thurston stated Ham Lake had just hired a full time building <br />inspector for $13,500. Mr. Thurston said he could take a certi- <br />fication test at Anoka-Ramsey for building inspection at two <br />week intervals. He could start with us on the 1st of January. <br /> <br />Tentative agreement on 15 per mile for mileage; $13,500 for <br />salary, pay for his health insurance; review on June l~ 1975. <br />He would keep track of his mileage each day and he thought it <br />would cost around $60 to $65 for health insurance per month~ <br />this to be stopped at such time as the City would get their own <br />health insurance program. <br /> <br />Mr. Steffens will write a letter to the auditor indicating the <br />name of our assessor after the Dec. llth meeting. <br /> <br />We will call the insurance company about a bond for Mr. Thurston. <br /> <br />The Council will make a decision on Dec. llth concerning Coon <br />Rapids inspecting. <br /> <br />Mro Thurston was told Mr. Pittman had offered any assistance he <br />can to help him. <br /> <br />We will get prices on furniture and Mr. Thurston will get prices <br />on a calculator. <br /> <br />Respectfully su~bmitted, <br /> <br /> <br />
