7:45 <br />March 10, 1980 <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council held an informal meeting at the above time at the <br />City of Ramsey's Municipal Center. The following were present at this <br />meeting: <br /> <br />Councilman Arnold Cox <br />Councilman David Mickelson <br />Councilman Allen Sorteberg <br /> <br />Also present at this meeting were the following; <br /> <br />Mrs. Arnold Cox <br />Mr. Rienarz, Farm Home Administration <br />Mr. Grasavage, HUD <br />Lloyd G. Schnelle, City Administrator <br /> <br />The purpose of this informal meeting was to meet the Department Farm Home <br />Administration and the Department of Housing Urban Development to discuss <br />the grant programs their respective department administer and how their <br />programs would benefit the City of Ramsey, <br /> <br />Mr. William Grasavage of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Develop~ <br />ment explained to the City Council member at this meeting the various grant <br />programs this federal agency funds. He explained that the Community Develop- <br />ment Block Grant Program to the City Council and how a City would qualify <br />for a grant. Mr. Grasavage also explained the Economic Development grant <br />for industrial development. After reviewing the total HUD grant program <br />with Mr. Grasavage~ it became apparent that the City of Ramsey would have <br />a difficult time qualifying for any HUD grant program due to the many <br />pecularities that goes into the ranking of a HUD grant. The small City <br />HUD Community Block Grant program was not designed for out suburban com- <br />munities like Ramsey <br /> <br />Mr. Rienarz of the Farm Home Administration discussed with Council members <br />the extent of their programs they had to offer to communities like the City <br />of Ramsey.
