PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on Tuesday, March 24, 1981, <br />at the RamseyMunicipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Bo.ulevard N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota <br />553O3. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec (late 10:15) <br />Councilman Sorteberg <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Cox <br />Councilwoman Van Wagner <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Attorney Goodrich <br />City Building Official Berg <br />City Administrator Schnelle <br />City Engineer Raatikka <br />Press Representative Sandin (late 8:15) <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann called the meeting %o order at 7:39 p.m. and led in the Pledge <br />of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />Citizen Pat Smuder, 22301 Sugarbush Road, Elk River came before the Council <br />to inquire about a catering service in the Voyager Building. She asked if <br />she would need a license to serve set ups. Attorney Goodrich stated the <br />state law requires a set up license. She also asked if she would need a <br />catering license. Attorney Goodrich stated she would need a state food <br />handlers license. Building Official Berg stated she would need adequate <br />parking and maybe some minor interior alterations for kitchen facilities. <br />Councilman Reimann asked if there were adequate sewer cormections to handle <br />a higher capacity. Ms. Smuder stated yes, the owner will see that it is <br />adequate. <br /> <br />Citizen Jerry DeChanuy from Independent Fire Protection, located on <br />Sunfish Lake Boulevard presented a site drawing that need variances. <br />Councilman Reimann recommended Building Official Berg review and refer <br />to Planning and Zoning before the Council gets involved. Building Official <br />Berg stated there is no need for the Planning and Zoning Commission to <br />review as the variances are decisions the Council could make and suggested <br />this item be placed on the agenda for a special meeting or the next council <br />meeting. <br /> <br />Citizen Mrs. Hickman, Plants and Things, Sunfish Lake Boulevard and Highway <br />10 came before the Council to inquire about a temporary structure for her <br />plant business. Mrs. Hickman brought in a sketch Of the improvement and <br />was referred to Building Official Berg to determine if a building permit <br />would be required, a site and design plan and a contract. The Council <br />discussed the possibility of Mrs. Hickman posting a deposit with the <br />city in escrow until the Council approved the' items recommended and <br />Building Offical Berg would suggest meeting withMrs. Hickman as soon <br />as possible to determine what would be necessary and draft a performance <br /> <br />C/March 24, 1981 <br /> 1 <br /> <br /> <br />
