Special Meeting <br /> 3/3/77 <br /> <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br />COUNTY OF ANOKA <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, Mayor Cox called to order a <br />Special Meetinn of the Ramsey City Council at 12:30 P.M., Thursday, <br />March 3, 1977. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> Mayor Cox <br /> Councilman Muller <br /> Councilman Reimann <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> Councilman Gorham <br /> Councilman Mickelson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> John Hubbard <br /> Roqer Meyer <br /> Bernie Steffen <br /> Bill Goodrich <br /> Jack Boarman <br /> Administrative Asst. Nereson <br /> <br />City Architect, Jack Boarman, gave a brief review of the City Hall <br />construction project and schedule. The most recent cost estimate <br />is $618,100.00. Mr. Boarman indicates this estimate is believed to <br />be 10% hiph because estimate was made from incomplete plans of a <br />more realistic figure would be $557,100.00. <br /> <br />Ma.yor Cox emphasized that the City Hall Construction 2dvisory <br />Committee was established to work with Mr. Boatman and report to <br />the City Council. If there are problems regarding building costs, <br />these budget problems should be worked out at the committee level <br />because the expertise on buildina knowledge is available there. <br /> <br />Mr. Boarman indicated that the cost overruns are somewhat intentional <br />because deductive alternates should be used to allow full use of the <br />grant offer monies. Some of the cost overruns are due to additions <br />and changes made to the submitted plan. <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson read a list of recommendations that came from a Construc- <br />tion Advisory Committee meeting of March 2, 1977, (March 7, 1977, <br />letter to Jack Boarman). Hr. Boarman aareed to make the recommended <br />chanees. <br /> <br />The specification for well construction was discussed and decided to <br />leave as presently stated in the specifications. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox speakinp for the Council, expressed displeasure with <br />Mr. Boarman's failure to attend the Construction Advisory Committee <br />meeting to discuss the plans, specifications, and project overruns. <br />Mayor Cox suggested that Mr. Boarman devote his attention to the <br />Ramse.y project and keep in close contact with the Construction <br />Advisory Committee in the future. <br /> <br /> <br />
