Council-Special Meeting <br /> September 2, 1977 <br /> Page 1 <br /> <br />SPECIAL MEETING <br />RAMSEY CITY COUNCIL <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> COUNTY OF ANOKA <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special meeting of the <br />Ramsey City Council was held on September 2, 1977, at Ramsey City <br />Hall, 14100 St. Francis Boulevard N.W0, Ramsey, Minnesota 55303 <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />Mayor Cox <br />Councilman Muller <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilman Gamec <br /> <br />Councilman Mickelson <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Mr. Nereson, City Adm. <br />Richard Sha, Cons. Eng. <br />Mr. Nielson, Attorney for <br /> Mr. Menkveld <br />Mr. Clayton Berg, Bldg. Off. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox opened the meeting at 5:15 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox opened the meeting with general discussion and the purpose <br />for the meeting which is the Industry Road proposed alignment from <br />Sunfish Lake Boulevard westward through Section 27 to County Road 56 <br />and beyond. <br /> <br />Mayor Cox indicated that all of the agreements had been reached with <br />the exception of the North 1/2 of Section 27 which is owned by Gilbert <br />Menkveld. <br /> <br />A discussion of possible realignment ~oiding this area was held. <br />The new alignment would not enter the North 1/2 of Section 27 but <br />would continue westward along the north 120 feet of the SW and SE <br />quarters of the South 1/2 of the NW quarter of Section 27. <br />This land is owned by the Gateway Industrial Park corporation. Mr. <br />Greenberg, a representative of that group indicated that he felt <br />agreement would be possible, however, a meeting of their board of <br />directors would have to be held. <br /> <br />Councilman Reimann made a motion, seconded by Councilman Gamec to <br />authorize the Mayor and Clerk to enter into right of way agreements <br />with the property owners involved to acquire the North 120 feet of the <br />SW and SE quarters of the South 1/2 of the NW quarter of Section 27. <br />This agreement would be similar to those signed by other landowners <br />involved in the Industry Road extension and would generally waive the <br />park dedication fee for any quarter/quarter that right of way is <br />acquired for. Carried 4 - 0 <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Reimann, seconded by Councilman Muller to <br />authorize the Mayor and the Clerk to execute agreements to acquire <br />120 foot right of way West of County Road 56 in Section 28 described <br />only as generally in the South 1/2 of Section 28. Carried 4 - 0 <br /> <br />Motion by Councilman Gamec, seconded by Councilman Reimann to <br />withhold serving of condemnation papers against the property <br /> <br /> <br />
