Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION # 2016-01-023 <br />RESOLUTION TO RATIFY THE 2016 BUDGETED PAID -ON-CALL FIREFIGHTER <br />WAGE INCREASE <br />WHEREAS, the City's Paid -on-call Firefighter's last wage increase was January 1, 2009; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, staff have completed a wage study and recommend a wage adjustment to <br />increase the hourly wage from $12.88 per hour to $14.50 per hour; and <br />WHEREAS, this wage adjustment is necessary in order to effectively recruit and retain <br />the full complement of firefighters; and <br />WHEREAS, the funding for this wage increase will be partially reimbursed per the Joint <br />Powers Agreement with the City of Nowthen, as per the salaries provision. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, <br />1) Motion to adopt resolution #16-01-023 to increase the hourly wage for the City's Paid -on- <br />call Firefighters to $14.50 per hour, effective January 1, 2016. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Shryock, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Mayor Strommen <br />Councilmember Johns <br />Councilmember Shryock <br />Councilmember Kuzma <br />Councilmember Riley <br />Councilmember Williams <br />and the following voted against the same: <br />None <br />and the following abstained: <br />None <br />and the following were absent: <br />Councilmember LeTourneau <br />
