City of RAMSEY March/April • 2016 RESIDENT - Construction Nears Completion at the Replacement Fire Station #2 At the time of writing this article, the replacement Fire Station #2 is in the final lap of the construction race. The "Going Operational" date is planned for March 1, 2016. Construction on the project began in May, 2015. Neighbors to the site have watched the building con- tinuously move skyward through the sum- mer and fall of 2015 and into the winter of 2016. A few last roof details and other exterior projects can be observed, but most of the activity is taking place within the building and is in the final stages of completion. The new Fire Station #2 sits on a 2.34 acre site of city -owned property, located at the intersection of Heli- um Street and Alpine Drive. The plot was identified by the City years ago as the replace- ment site for the existing Fire Station #2, which is housed within the old City Hall complex.
