CITY COUNCIL MEETING CITY OF RAMSEY COUNTY OF ANOKA STATE OF MINNESOTA A regular meeting of the Ramsey City Council was held on August 28, 1978, at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Blvd., N.W., Ramsey, Minnesota 55303. Mayor Cox called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M. Present: Councilman Muller Councilman Reimann Councilman Mickelson Mayor Cox Also Present: City Attorney Goodrich City Adm. Schnelle Building Official Berg City Engr. Raatikka Absent: Councilman Gamec City Engineer Raatikka read the bids for street improvements for the Whispering Pines Estates. Two bids had been received: $111,830.00 N.D.H. $122,993.00 Hardrives The bid came in about 22% above the estimated cost by the engineers. Engi- neer Raatikka stated that due to fluxuations in the market and added restora- tions they anticipate the cost to be less than the bid. The proposed sur- face would be 24 feet wide, 1½ inch bituminous, 3 inches of class V base and anticipate it to be about $1,200 per lot. Mr. Dennis Schmickel of 7961 - 150th Lane stated tke specifications didn't coincide with the thickness of the street and wondered how it would stand up in the spring with garbage trucks and the like. He stated he was told it would be 2 inches of bituminous. Motion by Bob Muller and seconded by Gary Reimann to adopt Resolution #22 awarding the bid for Whispering Pines Estates to N,D.H. in the amount of $111,830. 4 ayes Motion carried APPROVAL OF Motion by Gary Reimann and seconded by Dave Mickelson to approve the agenda with the addition of Ed Longfield. 4 ayes Motion carried CITIZEN INPUT Mr. Gordon Erickson, representing the 4-H, was present to give thanks to the Council for their support of the Clubs in Ramsey. He requested to be on a mailing list for copies of the Council minutes. Mayor Cox thanked him for coming and invited members of the Clubs to attend the meetings of the Council.
