CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey City Council conducted a City Council Work Session on Monday, March 15, 2004, <br />at the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember A1 Pearson <br />Councilmember Sarah Strommen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Brian Olson <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the City Council Work Session to order at 6:42 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION <br /> <br />1) Ramsey Town Center Commercial <br /> <br />John Feges, Ramsey Town Center, LLC, provided a brief review of the project and introduced <br />the Architect fi'om RSP working on the commercial portion of the development. <br /> <br />Bill Wittrock, RSP Architects, presented the Council with copies of the documents that have <br />been used through the planning process to get them to the stage they are presently at. He <br />explained that the most significant change made to the project had to do with the location of the <br />retail section. When the area was first looked at the retail was spread out over a ½ mile area, <br />which after further review did not seem reasonable for pedestrian traffic in the convenience <br />section. Because of that they changed their focus to an area where two roads intersect to keep the <br />area fimctional for automobiles as well as pedestrian traffic. Another change that was made was <br />to place some of the larger anchor buildings at the start of the development adjacent to <br /> <br />City Council Work Session/March 15, 2004 <br /> Page 1 of 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
