BOARD OF REVIEW <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A meeting of the Board of Review for the City of Ramsey was duly held <br />on the 14th day of May, 1941 at g:27 p.m., at the Ramsey Municipal Center, <br />15153 Nowthen Blvd. N.W.., Ramses, M/nnesota 55303. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilman Cox <br />Councilman Sorteberg <br />Councilman Reimann <br />Councilwoman Van Wagner (8:05 late) <br /> <br />Others Present: <br /> <br />City Assessor Wirz <br />County Assessor Leone <br />County Assessor Thurston <br />County Assessor Starkey <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the Board of Review meeting to order at 7:27 p.m. <br />and led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec introduced County Assessor GaYle Leone to the Council and <br />Citizens. <br /> <br />Assessor Leone spoke to the Council and Citizens and explained the <br />tax payable charts provided for Council review and discussed Senate <br />Bill S.F. 1178, a proposed bill to reduce assessment for industrial <br />and commercial property. He encouraged everyone to contact their <br />legislators regarding this bill. Mr. Leone further discussed land <br />and property values and the difference between residential and <br />commercial tax values as provided in the charts. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked for questions and concerns from the audience. <br /> <br />CASE #1: JOHN GERTZ <br /> <br />Plat 89226, Parcel 8700, TCV 66 unplatted, City of Ramsey 1981 E~V $74,500. <br />Mr. Gertz stated his property is valued too high. Mr. Gertz stated his <br />driveway is valued too high because it is a useless parcel and assessed <br />at $3,000. This parcel is approximately 1/2 acre. It is not homesteaded, <br />and this parcel is in another section. The Council suggested to Mr. Gertz <br />that he homestead his property. Address: 5959 Industry Avenue N.W., Anoka <br />Minnesota 55303. Council Action: None. <br /> <br />CASE #2: Austrid L. Guy <br /> <br />Plat 89235, Parcel 0655, TCV 66. <br />Ms. Guy came before the Council and stated she didn't think she could <br />accomplish one thing by coming to the Board of Review. She stated her <br />land value has doubled from 1979 to 1980. She stated she thinks this <br />is completely out of line. Ms. Guy left the meeting at this time. <br />Address: 6101 West Hwy. 10, Anoka. Mr. Wirz stated the property is not <br />over valued.
