The EDA and the Planning Commission will hold their regular <br />scheduled meetings next week Thursday; however, at the time of this writing, the agendas had not <br />yet been finalized. <br />Council Update <br />Highway 10/Armstrong Ramp Closure. The northeast Highway 10 to Armstrong Boulevard <br />ramp will be closed tonight (Thursday, April 28) from 9:00 pm. To 5:00 a.m. for paving, weather <br />permitting. Once the paving is completed — there will be no more ramp closures. <br />Arbor Day 2016 and Brookfield Demonstration Project. On Tuesday, April 19, the Public <br />Works Committee recommended City Council ratify a multi -faceted project in the Brookfield <br />Subdivision that included an Arbor Day event proposed for May 12, 2016. The project includes <br />grade modifications for a trail link to the existing Trott Brook Trail, as well as various landscape <br />elements. Because the tree planting (the Arbor Day event), should normally be one of the last <br />steps in a project like this, staff is proceeding pursuant to the Committee's recommendation in <br />order to meet the May 12 timeline. If Councilmembers have questions or, concerns with any <br />portion of the plan for the trail, landscape treatments, or tree planting, please contact staff. <br />Attached to the Weekly Update is a letter that will be sent to the residents nearest the project, <br />apprising them of the work, and inviting those families to participate in Arbor Day. <br />Heart Safe CPR Monthly Training Sessions — Postponed for Summer. Due to the high number <br />of events that Heart Safe -Ramsey is involved with during the summer months, the regularly <br />scheduled CPR and AED Monthly Training Sessions have been temporarily postponed. There <br />will be no training session at the Ramsey Municipal Center on Monday, May 2. <br />For more information on where Heart Safe -Ramsey will be running training sessions this summer, <br />or to request a session, please contact savedbycnr@hotmail.com. The training sessions offered by <br />the Heart Safe Ramsey program are FREE to all Ramsey residents and businesses. You will learn <br />how to administer hands -only bystander CPR and how to properly use an AED. It only takes a few <br />minutes to learn these techniques and this knowledge could help you save a life! Attached to the Weekly Update is a Heart Safe Ramsey flyer <br />Spring Recycling Event set for May 7. The Spring Recycling Day event is scheduled for <br />Saturday, May 7, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Public Works facility. The purpose of the event <br />is to provide residents an opportunity to properly dispose of items that are generally not accepted <br />through the curbside recycling program, including appliances, electronics, batteries, fluorescent <br />bulbs, scrap metal and tires. Standard recyclables, such as newspaper, cardboard, cans, bottles <br />etc., are also accepted. Mattresses and box springs in any condition will be accepted. New <br />materials accepted this year include carpeting and textiles. The event also includes free document <br />
