PROCEEDINGS OF <br />CITY COUNCIL/PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br /> JOINT PUBLIC HEARING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />A joint public hearing was held by the City Council and Planning <br />and Zoning Commission 'on Monday, June 25, 1984 at the Ramsey <br />Elementary School, Ramsey, Minnesota , regarding Waste Management, <br />Inc. request for a Conditional Use Permit to construct and operate <br />a solid waste disposal facility and carry out certain environmental <br />improvements on property which is located generally South and North <br />of the existing landfill in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mr <br /> <br />Mr <br />Mr <br />Mr <br />Mr <br />Mr <br />Ms <br />Ms <br />Mr <br /> <br />Kenneth Peterson, Planning & Zoning Chairman <br />Terry Hendriksen, Planning & Zoning <br />Lee Johnson, Planning & Zoning <br />Benjamin Deemer, Planning & Zoning <br />Gerald Zimmerman, Planning & Zoning <br />Tom Gamec, Mayor <br />Gary Reimann, Councilmember <br />Sue Van Wagner, Councilmember <br />Jean Schlueter, Councilmember <br />A1 Sorteberg, Councilmember <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Mr. Charles LaDue, Planning & Zoning <br />Dr. Duane Kennen, Planning & Zoning <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson called the public hearing to order at 7:35 p.m. <br />and stated that the purpose of this public hearing is to take <br />testimony from the applicant, members of the public and any other <br />interested parties relating to the application of Waste Management <br />of Minnesota, Inc., for a Conditional Use Permit to construct and <br />operate a solid waste disposal facility and carry out certain <br />environmental improvements on property which is located generally <br />South and North of the existing landfill in the City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson stated that this public hearing is being conducted <br />pursuant to the Ramsey City Code Conditional Use Permit application <br />procedures. Because of the significance of this issue, this is a <br />joint public hearing by the Ramsey Planning Commission and Ramsey <br />City Council. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson stated that the notice of this hearing appeared <br />in the Anoka County Union on the 15th of June, 1984 and written <br />notices were mailed out and a copy of that notice will be entered <br />into the record of this public hearing. <br /> <br />Chairman Peterson stated that when the ,public hearing has been <br />concluded, the Planning Commission shall adopt Findings of Fact <br /> <br />Council/P & Z <br />Public Hearing <br /> Page 1 of 23 <br /> <br /> <br />
