P&Z-1- 4/19/79 Planning & Zoning City of Ramsey County of Anoka State of Minnesota A special meeting of the Ramsey City Planning & Zoning Commission was held on 4/19/79 to conduct interviews for the two vacancies of the commission. Chairman Ken Peterson called the meeting to order at 7:30 with the following in attendance: Ken Peterson Art Dunn Ron West Gerry Zimmerman The following gentlemen suLmitted applications and were interviewed by the commission: Mr. Steve Leitschuh Mr. Michael Waterman Mr. Larry Davis Mr. Timothy Rootes Mr. Ben Deemer Mr. John Hubbard It was the consensus or ~ne Commission that Mr. Deemer showed the necessary enthusiasm, and had good knowlege and background of the zoning ordinance. Mr. Hubbard and Mr. Rootes have indicated their desire to be of service to the City during the past years, and Commission members felt them to be better qualified for the ~emaining position~ :.::~ Motion by Ron West, seconded by Art Dunn to recommend to the City Council to appoint Mr. Ben Deemer ~to fill the vacancies created by the resignation of A1 Sorteberg which will be a four year term, as Mr. Sorteberg's term expired 12/78, but not renewed, and to choose either Mr. John Hubbard or Mr. Timothy Rootes to the fill the remaining term of Mr. Brad Bodle which will expire 12/79. Motion carried 4-0. Critical Rivers The Commission agreed that they would be prepared to vote on the Critical Rivers Plan at the May 7th meeting and briefly discussed the areas which received negative response from those present at the Public Hearing. It was the consensus of the Commission that the City should contact the owners of the property presently zoned commercial and industrial that lies South of Hwy #10 and have them specificly state their intentions regarding their property, and to have them inform the Commission just exactly what they would want for the amea.
