PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> <br />P & Z 11/1/76 <br /> <br />A Planning & Zoning meeting waR held on November 1, 19'76, at Ramsey Elementary School, <br />15000 Nowthen Boulevard, Ralr~e~, <br /> PRESENT: Thomas Gamec <br /> Bradley Bodle <br /> Gerald Zimmer~n <br /> Kenneth PetersOn <br /> Thomas MoorhouBe <br /> Allen Sorteberg, CHA__rR3~N <br /> <br />The meeting was called to orde~r by Chairman A1 Sorteberg at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Motion by Tom Gamec to approve~ the Minutes of the October 4, 1976, meeting. Motion <br />seconded by Ken Peterson and c~rried 6 to O. <br /> <br />VARIANCE REQUEST OF DAVID MICKELSON, 16101 RAMSEY BOULEVARD N.W. <br /> <br />Mr. Mickelson requests to add ~0 feet to an existing parcel of land. He owns both <br />tracts of land and wants to ad~ 20 feet to the smaller tract of land. This will <br />make the smaller tract of landl with the existing house on it with a frontage of <br />125.6 feet. The other will th'en be 138.4 feet. He has owned these tracts of land <br />for quite some time. <br /> <br />Legal descriptions are on file[ at city hall. <br /> <br />Tom Gamec moved to recommend tO the City Council to grant David Mickelson a variance <br /> <br />to take 20 feet off the South 158.4 feet of Parcel 1570 and add it to Parcel 1560 <br /> <br />making Parcel 1560 - 125.6 feeL frontage, because he owns both tracts and they are <br />large tracts. Seconded by Ger~ald Zimmerman and carried 5 to 1. <br />Tom Moorhouse voted Naye becaube he did not have time to go out and view the property <br /> <br />as there was no agenda sent ou~. <br /> <br />Tom Moorhouse presented a retx~'rt that he had prepared after attending a meeting on the <br />28th of October 1976, in Ramse~ Community School in which it was brought out that the <br />Planning & Zoning was not contacted in reference to a new building site for the city hall <br />located in the Industrial Park~ <br />Discussion followed among the planning & Zoning members as to whether or not this would be <br />a good site or where a good si~ze would be. Also, where the authority lies in determining <br />planning for the City. The me'bors generally agreed that there has been too much <br />activity in the City that has not been reviewed by the Planning & Zoning Corrm~ssion such <br />as the purchase of land and si~e for the City hall. <br />Tom Moorhouse moved that we re&ortlm~nd to the City Council regarding the following. <br /> <br />l. Comprehensive Plan; 2. Economic Development Committee; 3. City Hall funding. <br /> (copies of 1,2, and 3 are on f~le at City hall). <br /> <br />Motion died for lack of second. <br /> <br /> <br />
