All commission <br />members present. Sorteb~rg, Zimmerman, Bodle, Gamec, Moorhouse and West. <br />Also present Clerk Walkey ~nd Engineer Raatikka. <br /> <br />Rock Lindland and Keith ~able appeared before the Commission along with <br />their Architect, Dick Freeborn. <br /> <br />Mr. Lindland explained that it was Mr. Cable's intent to develop a shopping <br />center of 88,000 square Feet with a net rentable space of 68,300 square <br />feet with very spacious i}a~king and an enclosed type mall. He gave out <br />a list of the types of b~lsinesses and also a time table on the development. <br /> <br />Public Input <br />Mr. A1 Kempf, 15220 St. :rancis Boulevard, asked if it compared in size to Green- <br />tree develipment. Mr. Lindland did not know the size of Greentree. <br />The size was discussed. <br /> <br />Mrs. Jean Schlueter, 150'1, Juniper Ridge Drive, asked about the need for a <br />shopping center in Ramsey. She does her shopping on a planned basis in <br />other areas. <br /> <br />A discussion took place ~n market studies. Traffic problems, etc. <br />Public Hearing closed at18:35 p.m. <br /> <br />Special meeting cabled t@ order at 8:40 p.m. by Chairman Sorteberg. <br />Agenda - Conditional UseiReco~endations <br /> <br />Member Input. <br />Tom Gamec said that the ~eo@le he contacted would use the center. That it <br />goes along with our comprehensive planning. <br /> <br />Tom Moorhouse had questiQns on the placement of the proposed highway through <br />the area and if there were any.alternate plans. Also questions on the parking <br />and a market informationlstudy. <br /> <br />The Planning & Zoning Co~ission members agreed that it was a good one and that <br />it went along with our f~ture planning for the area. <br /> <br />Motion by Gamec, seconde~ by Bodle to recommend to the City Council that <br />they grant a special use~permit to Keith Cable to develop a shopping center <br />to be located at the North West intersection of Highway 47 and County Road 57 <br /> <br /> <br />
