<br />!I. <br /> <br />REGULAR MEETING OF RAMSEY CITY PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION <br />October 6, 1975 <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairman Sorteberg. Present <br />were Mr. Klohs, Mr. Bodle, and Mr. Zimmerman. Mr. Fricke was <br />also present. <br /> <br />Mr. Zimmerman moved the minutes of the last meeting be accepted <br />as mailed out. Seconded by Mr. Klohs. Carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Airport Industrial Park Plat (sketch plan): John Oliver, surveyor <br />ror Don Greenberg, and Bill Eickler or Winklenman Enterprizes, <br />General Contractor, St. Cloud, Minnesota, presented the plat. <br />Mr. Fricke, Engineer for the City of Ramsey, presented his report <br />in regard to the proposed plat. No re-zoning is needed as this <br />plat is all in Industry I zoning. Outlot A will be turned into <br />an easement for a railroad spur. Don Greenberg stated that he <br />had a buyer for Lot 1, Block 1. Jerry Smothers, 775 DesotaSt., <br />St. Paul, (Minnesota Sawdust and Shaving Co., Inc.) intends to <br />erect a wood shavings plant on that lot. <br />Mr. Bodle moved to accept the sketch plan as amended, and allow <br />developer to prepare a preliminary plat. Second by Mr. Klohs. <br />Motion carried unanimously. There will be a public hearing on <br />this preliminary plat on November 3, 1975. <br /> <br />Jerry Frese: Second garage approval to build. Mr. Frese was not <br />present. <br /> <br />e. <br /> <br />Carson-Holm: Asked for a public hearing on preliminary plat of <br />Flintwood ~ills. This will be set for 6:30, November 3, 1975. <br /> <br />" <br /> <br />Gary Gorham variance: for Beauty Shop for Michelle Olson. Ms. <br />Olson is purchasing a home on 5210 155th Lane N.W. in the plat <br />of Woodland Green on Lot 12, Block 3, from Gary Gorham. She intends <br />to employ noone but herself in this beauty shop. Mr. Gorham said he <br />would provide off-the-street parking; also a larger septic tank for <br />this use. Mr. Bodle moved that a home-occupation certificate be <br />issued to Michelle Olson. Second by Zirnraerman. Carried 4 to O. <br /> <br />Mr. Deemer: Requested a variance on building a house on a lot and <br />placing the house in the middle. No action taken as this needs to be <br />refered to the Building Official. <br /> <br />~aulette Zimmerman: Requested variance to have a small crafts shop <br />in her home on r8l0 15lst Lane N.W. in the Greenland Hills Plat. <br />Mr. Bodle moved to recommend that the Zoning Officer issue a Home <br />Occupation permit for a small crafts business. Second by Dennis <br />Klohs. Carried 4 to o. <br /> <br />e- <br /> <br />Discussion on filling the position vacated by Bob Fossem who is <br />attending night school. This will be taken up at ~he next City <br />Council Meeting. <br /> <br />Al Sorteberg recommended that a moratorium be in effect in the urban <br />planning district until the proposed study is completed. <br /> <br />Adjournment at 9:30.
