REGULAR ~EETING OF RAMSEY TOWNSHIP PLANNING & ZONING COMMISSION <br /> June 3, 1974 <br /> <br />The meeting was called %0 order at 8:00 p.m. by the Chairman, <br />Mr. Reimann. Present w~,re Mr. Pittman, Mr. Sorteberg, Mr. Emmans, <br />Mr. Springer and Mrs. Guy~ <br /> <br />Mr. Barstow has resigned and we will need a replacement for him. <br /> <br />The minutes of the last stated meeting were read and accepted as <br />read by unanimous vote. <br /> <br />Mr. Gale Gorhamwas pre~ent with a request for rezoning on Highway <br />No. 5 from residential ~o commercial. Mr. Harr~Fleischer was <br />also present. He owns land just across the highway from Mr. Got- <br />ham and is interested in rezoning also. They said Mr. Ay~ was also <br />interested in rezoning farther up No. 5 on the south side of the <br />road. Due to the fact ~hat Anoka has taken a large part of our <br />industrial, area and we are losing two sections on the east side <br />of the Rum River to Grow Township, we are very concerned about <br />setting aside more area for industrial and commercial..The Com- <br />mission feels the area around the Y of Highways No. 5 and No. 47 <br />is ideally suited for commercial zoning and welcomed these requests <br />for rezoning to commercial. Those applying for rezoning were in- <br />formed they would have to bring in a legal.description of their <br />property so it can be pabiished in the paper for a public hearing <br />on this matter. They stated they would do this. There could be <br />as much as 150 to 160 acres involved depending on how some of the <br />other property owners would feel about this rezoning. Mr. and <br />Mrs. Ayt also came in a'~out having their property rezoned to com- <br />mercial. It was suggested that these people who w~t the rezon- <br />ing get the signaturem of the property owners with 350 feet of <br />their property. <br /> <br />Barnett Builders: They brought a revised sketch plan. They have <br />an area zoned for parks of about 7%of the plat. The plat contains <br />74.1 acres. They had met the requirements of the engineer in this <br />new sketch plan. Mr. Pittman moved we accept this plat with the <br />stipulation that they bring up the elevation for the park so it <br />would be useable. Secoaded by Mr. Springer. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Mr. Leland Stull, 1729 First Ave. So. of Anok~was present. Ne is <br />purchasing 16 acres from Mr. Walton. His sketch plan showed five <br />lots. There is a power line across this plat. Mr. Stull has not <br />completed the purchase of this land as yet until he knows whether <br />he can plat it. Ih wa~ suggested they provide an easement to the <br />northern edge of the plat. They were short on the 300 feet on the <br />road requirement for e~ch lot of 2~ acres. They will see Mr. Fricke <br />about this problem and see if they can get it worked out satisfac- <br />torily° <br /> <br />Mr. Springer moved we ~djourn. Seconded by Mr. Emmans. <br />carried.
