ORDINANCE #04-24 <br /> <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 4 OF THE CITY CODE, WHICH CHAPTER IS <br />KNOWN AS THE PUBLIC FACILITIES AND IMPROVEMENTS SECTION OF <br />THE CITY CODE. <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 4.40.06 SUBDIVISION 10. <br />ENTITLED SPRINKLING; LIMITATION MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey ordains: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. AUTHORITY <br /> <br />This ordinance is adopted pursuant to and under the authority of the charter of the City of <br />Ramsey. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. AMENDMENTS <br /> <br />Section 4.40.06 subdivision shall be amended to read as follows: <br /> <br />Subd. 10 Sprinkling; Limitation Municipal Water System <br /> a. In the case of fire or other emergencies which may be declared by the City <br /> Administrator in any area served by the municipal water system, all lawn hoses <br /> must be shut off and all unnecessary use of water must be stopped. <br /> b. Customers shall maintain taps, faucets valves and other water facilities so that <br /> water waste is eliminated. Irrigation systems shall be adjusted to avoid sprinkling <br /> of city streets and driveways. <br /> c. Odd- Even Sprinkling. A ban on sprinkling shall be in effect between Memorial <br /> Day and Labor Day. Residents may water on odd numbered days if their address <br /> ends in an odd number, and on even numbered days if their address ends in an <br /> even number. <br /> d. During the period from Memorial Day through Labor Day, no watering shall be <br /> permitted between 10:00 mn and 8:00 pm since a significant amount of water is <br /> lost due to evaporation during the hot portions of the day. <br /> e. Exemptions. Newly sodded or seeded yards will be exempt from the odd-even <br /> restriction for a period of two weeks. Over seeding or spot repair of existing <br /> established yards may be watered every day with a hand controlled hose. No <br /> watering will be allowed between noon and 6:00 pm for these exemptions. Other <br /> exemptions not subject to the afternoon restriction include car washing, filling of <br /> children's swimming pools, and children playing in hose operated sprinklers or <br /> water toys. <br /> <br /> <br />
