PLANNING COMMISSION CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA The Ramsey Planning Commission reconvened a regular meeting on Thursday, October 2002, at the Ramsey Fire Station #2, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. Members Present: Chairperson Michael Nixt Commissioner Ralph Brauer Commissioner Bill Kociscak Commissioner Michael Reeve Members Absent: Commissioner Robert Johnson Commissioner Eric Watson Also Present: City Engineer Steve Jankowski Principal Planner Patrick Trudgeon Associate Planner Megan Wald 10, RECONVENE Chairperson Nixt reconvened the regular meeting at 7:39 p.m. and explained the Planning Commission would be considering the items that had been tabled at the October 3, 2002 meeting. PUBLIC HEARINGS/COMMISSION BUSINESS Case #2: Request for a Conditional Use Permit to Exceed Accessory Building Size Restrictions; Case of David and Sandra Shappell It was noted that the public hearing for this application had been held at the October 3, 2002 Planning Commission meeting. Associate Planner Megan Wald stated the City received an application from David and Sandra Shappell for a conditional use permit to exceed the detached accessory building size restrictions established in City Code on the property located at 9325 164t~ Lane NW. Under City Code, parcels between 2-2.59 acres can have up to 2,064 square feet of accessory building space. The proposed building will be !,700 square feet (34' x 50') in size. Coupled with the existing garage (1,030 sq. ft.), the applicant will have 2,730 sq. ft. in accessory buildings. This results in an overage of 666 square feet. The applicant would like to exceed the 2,064 square feet restriction in order to construct a detached accessory building that would accommodate the storage of a 5th wheel travel trailer as well as a tractor and other personal equipment/vehicles.
