CANVASSING BOARD <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Canvassing Board conducted a meeting on Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at the <br />Ramsey Fire Station Number II, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Susan E. Anderson <br />Councilmember Terry Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator James E. Norman <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />City Clerk Jo Thieling <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the regular meeting of the Canvassing Board to order at 5:40 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was llolle. <br /> <br />BOARD BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Canvass Results of Recount between Candidates Susan Anderson and Jan R. <br />Pomeroy <br /> <br />City Clerk Thieling stated that Councilmember Susan Anderson requested a hand recount of the <br />votes between her and Council candidate Jan R. Pomeroy. A recount was allowed pursuant to <br />Minnesota State Statutes 204C.35. Since the count met the one-half percent requirement, the <br />count is done at the City's expense, not at the expense of the candidate requesting the recount. <br />City Clerk Jo Thieling, Clerk II Amy Dietl, and Secretary Pam Miller conducted the recount. <br />Gary Poser and Diane Teff from Anoka County Elections were present as well as Jan Pomeroy <br />and Susan Anderson. The results of the vote tallies did not change. Jan Pomeroy received a total <br />of 403 votes and Susan Anderson received a total of 388 votes. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Zimmerman, seconded by Councilmember Anderson, to canvass the <br />results of the recount of the race between Jan R.
