<br />Councilmember Johns introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #18-013 <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RESCINDING AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR IMPROVEMENT <br />PROJECT #17-13, POTASSIUM STREET CUL-DE-SAC IMPROVEMENTS <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> the City of Ramsey has long maintained Potassium Street, north of old <br />Nowthen Boulevard; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> the current property owners on the north end Potassium Street are disputing <br />that the street and cul-de-sac located on their property are public streets and therefore requested <br />that the City construct a cul-de-sac outside of their property; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> maintenance, service, and emergency response vehicles must be able to <br />safely turn around at the north end of Potassium Street; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> the City requested quotes from several local contractors to construct a <br />temporary gravel surfaced cul-de-sac outside of the property on the north end of Potassium Street; <br />and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> a quote was received from Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. in the amount of <br />$34,877 and was found to comply with the request for proposals; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br />pursuant to a resolution of the City Council adopted October 24, 2017, the <br />quote of Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. was accepted and a construction contract was awarded to <br />Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. in the amount of $34,877; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> required easements could not be acquired from two property owners on the <br />north end of Potassium Street which is preventing construction from proceeding per the approved <br />plans. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br /> <br />1) The Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to rescind the award <br />of contract to Dave Perkins Contracting, Inc. for said services for and on behalf of the <br />City of Ramsey. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Shryock and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br /> Mayor Sarah Strommen <br /> Councilmember Johns <br /> Councilmember Shryock <br /> Councilmember Kuzma <br /> Councilmember LeTourneau <br /> Councilmember Riley <br /> <br /> <br />
