Councilmember Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #02-01-018 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST, FROM <br />MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, A WARRANT STUDY FOR <br />THE INSTALLATION OF A SIGNALIZED INTERSECTION FOR THE <br />INTERSECTION OF 167TM AVENUE NW AND TRUNK HIGHWAY #47 <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the intersection of 167th Avenue NW and Trunk Highway #47 involve <br />mutual jurisdictions of the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, both 167th Avenue NW and Trunk Highway #47 are collector and arterial <br />streets within the City of Ramsey; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a traffic signal warrant analysis was last performed by the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation in 1995, which showed that Warrant No. 8 met minimum traffic <br />for six of the required eight hours; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, significant traffic volume increases have occurred on both T.H.#47 and <br />167th Avenue NW since this previous study. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />l) <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a warrant study by the Minnesota <br />Department of Transportation for the intersection of 167th Avenue NW and Trunk Highway <br />#47. <br /> <br />2) That upon completion of the warrant study, the City Engineer shall report to the City Council <br /> as to the findings and recommend what future course of action should be taken. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />Hendriksen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec <br />Councilmember Anderson <br />Councilmember Hendriksen <br />Councilmember Kurak <br />Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br /> <br />
