Councilmember Anderson introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #02-01-018 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CITY ENGINEER TO REQUEST, FROM MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, A WARRANT STUDY FOR THE INSTALLATION OF A SIGNALIZED INTERSECTION FOR THE INTERSECTION OF 167TM AVENUE NW AND TRUNK HIGHWAY #47 WHEREAS, the intersection of 167th Avenue NW and Trunk Highway #47 involve mutual jurisdictions of the Minnesota Department of Transportation and the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, both 167th Avenue NW and Trunk Highway #47 are collector and arterial streets within the City of Ramsey; and WHEREAS, a traffic signal warrant analysis was last performed by the Minnesota Department of Transportation in 1995, which showed that Warrant No. 8 met minimum traffic for six of the required eight hours; and WHEREAS, significant traffic volume increases have occurred on both T.H.#47 and 167th Avenue NW since this previous study. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: l) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized to request a warrant study by the Minnesota Department of Transportation for the intersection of 167th Avenue NW and Trunk Highway #47. 2) That upon completion of the warrant study, the City Engineer shall report to the City Council as to the findings and recommend what future course of action should be taken. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Anderson Councilmember Hendriksen Councilmember Kurak Councilmember Zimmerman and the following voted against the same: None
