• Councilmember Zimmerman introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #01 -01 -019 RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING ON A PROPOSED RENAMING OF 149 AVENUE NW FROM TRUNK HIGHWAY #47 TO WACO STREET NW TO SUNWOOD DRIVE. WHEREAS, the above reference segment roadway is currently part of the City's Municipal State Aid (MSA) collector street system; and WHEREAS, the collector roadway system begins at Waco Street N.W. and currently extends west, and south west for a distance of two miles to County Road #57, and will e ventually extend westward for a distance of three and perhaps four miles; and WHEREAS, all the other existing segments of this collector roadway are named Sunwood Drive N.W. and future segments of this roadway to be constructed are to be named Sunwood Drive N.W.; and WHEREAS, renaming the above segment currently called 149 Avenue N.W. would provide consistency in the name of this collector roadway and thereby eliminate this complexity and confusion, and thus enhance the public safety and welfare; and WHEREAS, renaming will require no address changes, thereby minimizing inconveniences to the public. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: 1) That the City Administrator is hereby directed to schedule a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, 2001 for the purpose to solicit input on the above proposal. The motion of the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen and upon vote being taken thereon, the following in favor thereof: Mayor Gamec Councilmember Zimmerman Councilmember Hendriksen Councilmember Anderson Councilmember Kurak and the following voted against the same: None and the following abstained: None
