PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Public Works Committee continued their regular meeting on Tuesday, February 25, <br />2003 at the Ramsey Fire Station Number I, 15050 Armstrong Boulevard NW, Ramsey, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Thomas Gamec <br />Councilmember Todd Cook <br />Councilmember David Elvig <br />Councilmember Patti Kurak <br />Councilmember Al Pearson <br />Councilmember Sara Strommen <br />Councilmember Gerald Zimmerman <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Assistant City Administrator Heidi Nelson <br />Director of Public Works/Fire Chief Dean Kapler <br />Principal City Engineer Brian Olson <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br />Street Supervisor Grant Reimer <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec called the meeting of the Public Works Committee back to order at 6:03 p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #3: Consider Changes to City's Street Assessment Policy <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski stated that at the January Public Works Committee, the 2003 program <br />was presented. At that meeting a listing of the City's assessment policy was presented, and there <br />was some desire on the part of the Committee to consider changes to several of the assessment <br />methods. A copy of the assessment current practices is attached to this case. As can be seen <br />from that attachment, several of these policies have evolved over times, including last month's <br />Committee decision to assess commercial lots based upon area (item 7). Specifically, the <br />Committee questioned how isolated parcels having frontage significantly larger than the average <br />within a particular project might be fairly assessed.
